Obtaining a C5 business immigrant visa for a french citizen
THE ESSENCE OF THE REQUEST: a French citizen opened a company without a C5 visa. The tax service had questions about the company’s activities and the question arose of suspending the activities of a legal entity due to incorrect initial registration. A foreign citizen applied to us, and we started issuing a C5 visa for business immigrants.
STAGE 1 – Issuing an invitation letter and obtaining a visa support number
The list of required documents: a copy of the passport of a foreign employee, place of residence abroad, certificate of registration of the inviting organization, data on the signatory and other details.
Deadlines: The process takes an average of 5-7 working days from the date of registration of the invitation letter. It takes an additional 3-5 working days to prepare and collect documents. A lot will depend on the speed of providing the necessary documents. In rare cases, the NSC may extend the approval up to 30 calendar days.
According to our case, the visa support number was ready on the 7th working day after the registration of the letter. At this stage, the presence of a foreign citizen in the Republic of Kazakhstan is not required. We have issued the documents on the basis of a power of attorney.
Risk zones: approval by the National Security Committee. The review period may increase to 30 days.
Expenses: 0.5 MCI per invitation letter.
STAGE 2 – Applying for a visa at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in Paris, France
As soon as the visa support number is issued, a foreign citizen can apply for a visa.
List of required documents:
– a copy of the invitation letter with an approved visa support number;
– original passport;
– a copy of the passport;
– photo 3,5*4,5
– completed visa application form;
– confirmation of payment of the state fee;
– medical certificates confirming the absence of diseases, the presence of which prohibits entry into Kazakhstan (only by a French doctor, and only in French, a notarized translation is not needed and this certificate cannot be made in Kazakhstan):
- Drug addiction.
- Mental disorders (diseases).
- Tuberculosis.
- Leprosy (Hansen’s disease).
- Sexually transmitted infections (STIs) – syphilis, venereal lymphogranuloma (donovanosis), carcinoid.
- Acute infectious diseases (except acute respiratory viral infections and influenza).
1 certificate from 1 doctor indicating all these points (regardless of whether the doctor’s specialization is sufficient, no evidence or test results are required). It’s best to just contact your family doctor and explain that you need a visa.
– medical insurance in English or French;
– a certificate of the presence or absence of a criminal record issued by the authorized body of the country of citizenship or permanent residence in French with an apostille;

Terms: the insertion of the visa takes up to five working days from the date of application by the applicant. In our case, after applying, the visa was issued on the second working day.
Risk areas: collection of medical certificates, certificates of no criminal record and a ban on doing business.
Expenses: 75 euros for a single-entry visa.

STAGE 3 – Extension of the C5 visa for a French citizen from single to multiple
The list of required documents: the company’s business plan, a confirmation letter from the authorized body, a request from the inviting person, a receipt for payment of the consular fee, place of residence in the Republic of Kazakhstan, a copy of the notification of entry to the Republic of Kazakhstan, etc.
Terms: the procedure will take place in two stages, the first is to receive confirmation from the authorized body, the second is to extend the C5 visa. On average, it can take from 15 to 30 business days.
Risk zones: approval by the NSC may take up to 30 days.
Expenses: payment of the consular fee in the amount of 30 MCI (103,500 tenge for 2023).
Is it possible to apply for an electronic C5 visa?
No, the C5 electronic visa is not issued. Personal presence is required at the Embassy of Kazakhstan in the country of citizenship or in the country of permanent residence to provide supporting documents (long-term visa, work permit, work visa, etc.). A tourist or business visa is not a basis for residence, so on the basis of these visas it is impossible to submit documents for obtaining a visa to Kazakhstan not in the country of citizenship.
Can family members get visa for family reunification?

Who can get a visa:
- Spouses who have been married recognized in the Republic of Kazakhstan for at least 3 years. Civil marriage, partnership and extramarital relationship are not recognized in the Republic of Kazakhstan;

- Children, including adopted children, over 18 years old, unmarried and dependent on the inviting person due to the lack of self-support for health reasons;
- Disabled parents who are dependent on the inviting person;
