How long does it take to process an initial Neo Nomad Visa B12-1? It depends on the applicant’s citizenship. If the applicant is a citizen of one of 48 economically developed countries, the process takes 1 to 5 business days after the application is submitted. In other cases, an invitation letter must be issued. This takes an additional 5 business days from the date of registration at best, or up to 30 calendar days if approved by the National Security Committee.
Can foreign citizens work in Kazakhstan on a B12-1 Neo Nomad visa? No, this visa does not allow the main applicant or family members to work.
What kind of visa can family members obtain? Family members are issued a similar visa with the same validity period as the main applicant. Supporting documents must be provided to obtain an accompanying visa. For spouses, a marriage certificate is required. For children under 18, a birth certificate is required. Documents must be apostilled/legalized, except for countries that are signatories to the Minsk Convention.

Requirements for a foreign specialist’s passport when obtaining a visa to Kazakhstan:

- It must have at least 2 blank pages for visas, except for recipients of visas for departure from the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan;
- The passport must be valid for at least 3 months after the expiry date of the requested visa, except for recipients of visas for departure from the territory of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
- The passport must not have any marks indicating an extension of its validity.
